Lares is a beautiful place for trekking, it includes a complex surface of warm valleys and dazzling snows, the walk is done in a traditional way using the paths of ancient inhabitants of the Andes. This program is an excellent option to breathe fresh air and discover unique natural landscapes of the Andes, such as valleys, lagoons, crystal clear waters, and we will finish the program with the connection with the visit to Machu Picchu

Day-by-day itinerary

CUSCO - CALCA - LARES - WACAHUASI
  • Very early we will pass by your hotel to pick you up and travel for 1 hour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, we will stay in the town of Calca where we will visit the traditional market, then we will take the transport for 2 hours to the town of Lares, the staff will be waiting To welcome us on our arrival, before starting the Lares Trek, we will have the opportunity to go to the Thermo Medicinal Baths of Lares.
  • We start our adventure walking for 2 hours to acclimatize to the bridge of Vilcabamba where we will enjoy a delicious lunch, we will take a break to continue with the walk for 3 hours more to the town of Wacahuasi, along the way we will meet children dressed in typical costumes from the area, they, who welcome us. We will camp in Wacawasi, we will have to take shelter because the night is usually cold, we will enjoy dinner and we will spend the night.
WACAHUASI - PUNTA TORO
  • Early after breakfast we will start the trek, it is the most exciting and trekking day of the Lares Trek, during our walk we will be surprised with beautiful lagoons, mountain ranges and snowy peaks, we will make 4 hours of walking until we reach the highest point of the trip where we will appreciate fauna of the place, the guide will give a brief description of the typical animals.
  • Upon reaching the Abra de C'asa the highest point of the route we can see the impressive Auroray Cocha lagoon where the guide will give us an explanation about the lifestyle of the people of this place, then descend for 1 hour to reach the Laguna Auroray Cocha, of course our lunch will be ready to recover strength and then continue descending for another 4 hours among cloud forests until arriving at Punta Toro camp, arriving at the place we will have dinner and spend the night.
WACAHUASI - PUNTA TORO
  • This day will be quiet, we will wake up a little later, we will prepare our belongings, we will have breakfast and we will start descending for 1 hour to the town of Yanahuara (2,850msnm). At this point we will board the ride for 15 minutes to Ollantaytambo, we will have lunch and finally we will board the train for 2 hours approximately until the town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, the guide will take you to the accommodation where you will be informed about some activities that you can do the rest of the day and coordinate dinner time.
AGUAS CALIENTES - MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO
  • Very early after breakfast we will start the ascent for 1 hour walk to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, to be the first to enter the Wonder of the World which will allow us to enjoy the sunrise, then we will visit the important places As precincts, Inca temples for a time of 2 hours, then you can explore the mysterious city on your own (optional climb mountain Huaynapicchu (USD 15:00 per person).
  • At opportune hour we will descend from Machu Picchu towards Aguas Calientes to take the train back to Ollantaytambo and from there the bus to Cusco

  • Prices are per person.
  • Group (shared) service; applies from 2 people.
  • Double, matrimonial or triple room (check-in: 11:00).
  • Valid for any country and/or nationality.
  • Does not include national or international flights.
  • Rate frozen for all of 2026.
  • No refund if the passenger cancels while in Cusco.

Deposit & payments

  • By Car: 20% deposit, no fee.
  • By Train: 30% deposit, no fee.
  • Final balance by card: 6% bank fee.
  • We recommend paying the balance in cash.
  • The balance is paid on your first day of arrival, at the hotel in Cusco.

  • Passport valid for at least 7 months from the flight date.
  • Bills in good condition (damaged notes are not accepted).
  • Open-date booking: confirm exact dates at least 30 days in advance.
  • You don't need to have your flights purchased when booking.
