Day-by-day itinerary

First day: Cusco, Piscacucho (kilometer 82) and Huayllabamba.
  • Our staff will approach the hotel between 6:00 am and 6:30 am to then go to the Sacred Valley of the Incas to reach the town of Ollantaytambo, where we will make a short stop to buy some supplies for the walk: water, fruit, rehydrating, sunscreen, batteries for flashlights, caps or hats, etc. Later we will continue with our trip until we reach the town of Piscacucho (located at kilometer 82), where we will meet with the staff that will assist us during our trip. At this point is the control of the park, whose staff we will show our passports and tickets provided by our company, we will begin our walk along the banks of the Urubamba river until we reach the archaeological complex of Patallaqta (2750msnm), we will continue walking through a area full of vegetation where we are lucky we will observe the giant hummingbird and after two hours we will arrive at our first camp, located in Huayllabamba.
  • During our tour we will reach a maximum height of 2954 masl, minimum height of 2670 masl, the distance to travel is 12 km, the walking time is 5 to 6 hours and we will camp at a height of 2954 masl.

  • After breakfast we will continue our journey, crossing the most difficult part of the road, we will ascend the Warmihuañusca pass. We will walk among valleys, vegetation and cloud forests that have an unparalleled beauty until we reach Llulluchapampa, a good place to take a short break before ascending the Warmihuañusca pass "Dead woman", this point is about 4,200 masl along our tour we can see how it is that the vegetation changes and reach the top, we will be compensated by a beautiful view of the snow (the Veronica) and Andean landscapes.
  • Then we will descend through a sinuous valley until we reach a point where we will stop for lunch and continue until we reach the Pacaymayu river valley at 3,600 masl where we will spend the second night.
  • This day we will reach a maximum height of 4200 masl, minimum height of 3600 masl, the distance to travel is 16 km, the walking time is 8 hours and we will camp at an altitude of 3600 masl.

Pacaymayo, Runkuracay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca and Wiñaywayna.
  • This day we will wake up very early and then have breakfast and continue with our walk to the Intipunku or Puerta del Sol area (2,490 m). This point is an excellent place from where you can take panoramic pictures of the citadel of Machu Picchu, Huaynapicchu and the valley of the Urubamba River. It is recommended to leave very early to see the sunrise in Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. Then we will descend to visit the Inca Citadel of Machu Picchu, we will have a guided tour for an average of 2 hours and they will be given free time so that they can explore Machu Picchu on their own, later they will return to Machu Picchu town from where they will take the train to destination to the city of Cusco and once you arrive at the station a representative of our company will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in the city of Cusco.
  • This day we will reach a maximum height of 2732 meters above sea level, the distance to walk is 4 km, the walking time is 2 hours.
